Hi all,

Bryce's work here has come to an end, thanks to life and a real job getting in the way. So, after six glorious months writing a book about street performance, I'm back.

To be honest, I don't reeeeally want to be here.

My first love is writing. I don't particularly like working in an office. So, it's a bit annoying that I'm back.

On the other hand, The Busking Project is a pet project, maybe an obsession, and definitely something I love. I'm not ready to give it up—to give you up—so for now I'm going to run the company again.

But. No more corporate speak, no more treating The Busking Project as a company. We're going back to our roots as a community, which means you now get 'Nick unplugged and uncensored' (albeit without the swear words).

The change in tone isn't just because I want to be honest, it's for my own mental health. I have nightmares on days when I have to do work on busk.co. I'll probably have one tonight. Hopefully making work feel a little less like work will change that.

That's the down side. The up side is that I adore interacting with our 'users'—another word I’ll stop saying. It makes me both happy and proud to see just how much of a benefit busk.co is for many of you. Whomever said that pride is a sin never worked in the arts.

So, onwards and upwards.

Not your cup of tea? Unsubscribe.

Most of you have no idea about the origins of The Busking Project, and have never heard from me. You signed up to a "cashless payments" service, not a "some guy talking about stuff" service.

If that's true for you, it would be very reasonable for you to unsubscribe. Or, stick around for another couple of emails, and click the unsubscribe button at the bottom when you're ready.

To entice you to stick around, here's an overview of the content of upcoming emails:

  • (Frankly incredible) info about busking that I've discovered while writing my book

  • Discussions about where The Busking Project is headed

  • Probably the odd hat line asking you for donations

And if you like what you read over the next few months or years, consider subscribing. If any of you have read this far, and wouldn't mind testing it out for me, the link is here:
