A day in Gaskara, West Bengal allowed us to film a group of people who are known as Bahrupia. In this stop motion clip you can see the Kali, Shiva’s consort. The young girl holds a painted bay leaf in her lips to represent the goddess’ tongue. The Monkey god wears an elaborate white tasselled costume with a wire tail, and the Witch appears unannounced, completing the trio with black dreadlocks and rigid arms.
