Open Mic Night
As far as I can google, this is the biggest community of street performers in the world—which means this is the biggest platform for busking-related information. So, time to open the platform to you.
It’s open mic night—let us know what you’re working on in the comments so everyone can see (or reply to this email if you prefer).
New website? Community? Festival? Even new lawsuit? Promote your stuff, or someone else’s, and I’ll feature the best projects in an upcoming newsletter.
That’s it! :)
💵🇦🇺 Australian job opportunity: postbox hero
Until now, one of Australia’s top economists (Meg Elkins) has been kindly mailing all our Australian BuskPay signs—for free! She’s been doing it for years, so it’s time to find someone new — and to start paying for the service.
The job:
We’ll send you stamps and a box of signs in envelopes.
We’ll email you an address when an order comes in.
You write the address on an envelope, stick on a stamp and post it.
The person we’re looking for:
You live near a post box.
Can do 5-10 signs/month.
Reliable: late signs = sad buskers
The pay:
Set your price per sign.
Free PRO+ account for life, with all the perks (worth about $18 AUD/month)
How to apply:
Reply to this email letting me know where you live in Australia and how much you’d charge for per sign. That’s it!
Is anyone else writing about busking?
I’ve never come across someone doing this kind of writing, but then again I’ve only ever googled in English. AI isn’t helping either.
So, do you know of anyone else out there writing about busking news, locally or internationally, in any language?
Thanks, and heavy hats,
Nick
